Review: Matched by Ally Condie

7:00 AM

Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate... until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7735333-matched

Matched

Cassia was a simple girl to a point but then things started to happen in her lift that made her questions everything. The Society this a place where there is every little choices. I could not live there. This story is about choices. I love how some of the choices are ones that people face every day while others aren’t. At first I thought I was going to be for Xander but then once I got to know Ky; I was totally for him. I love Xander but Cassia and Ky are made for one another. There was a part in the book where Cassia went to go talk to her father and once she got there what she seen ripped out my heart. They were burning books. It talked about the ripping the spin, ash little pieces of brunt paper. I could not live in a world without paper. Yes, I have two e-readers and a laptop but I never leave the house without a physical book; I could not live without my notebooks either. Out of the whole book that is one of the few parts that’ll stick with me for a long time. I also found the parts of Cassia learning to write touching. The idea that she was never learned to write only to type scares me because I can see today’s world heading that way. I love how powerful words are in this story. This is a story were the messages are one that I will not be forgetting anytime soon.

  1. Great review! I love this book. If you continue on with the series, be warned that Crossed is a bit hard to get through, but it's worth it because Reached is amazing. My favorite character was definitely Xander.

    1. Hi,
I finished Crossed and about to read Reached! I understand, Crossed was a bit off then the first one. Thanks for stopping by! I like Xander but I still don't have a favorite one yet....
