When My Lion Calls (River of Truth Series Book 1) by Tara Fairfield

I read half of this book in one night as I couldn't put it down. I need to know what would happen to Elle and the others. This book is filled with metaphors. I sometimes find that metaphors are over used in Religious books but Tara Fairfield was able to write and place them in just the right places to get the message out without over powering the story or writing off the plot. I enjoy the pace of the story. While it flowed right and took turns in the right place I felt that the characters grow and developed at the speed that fit the book. I love the relationships between the characters. The friendships, love stories and the family played into the plot without taking away but adding to the main point of the story. Even though this is a Christian I didn't feel it was telling you about God and Faith, but showing it in a dystopian, fantasy world, which was fun to read! - KayCee K. of Double Decker Books
