Music

Draft-
I picked up the pen and paper, again. pounding my head thinking. Hoping the words would come.
“Anything?” He asked.
“If there was anything, I would be writing.” I said.
He put his head back down on to the desk.
“This was once fun.” He said.
“Yeah, before we had to write.”
I just this is what happens when you make it in to the signing world. I remember the days of spending hours singing on the beach, just wanting to make people smile. Now, we have to write. He don’t just get to let the music come to us.
“I wish we could just let the music come to us.” I said, standing up.
“Like back in the day.” he said.
“When times where simple.”
“Not hard, you know, you know the days I’m talking about.” he sang out to me.
My eye’s widen with glee.

I picked up the pen and paper, again. I was tapping the pen on the paper, trying to come up with a beat while I pounding my head thinking of words to turn into lyrics. Hoping the words would come, if I found the right beat. But no luck.
“Anything?” He asked.
“If there was anything, I would be writing.” I said.
He put his head back down on to the desk.
“This was once fun.” He mumbled.
‘Yeah, before we had to write.’ I thought to myself.
I guess this is what happens when you make it in to the signing world. I remember the days of spending hours singing on the beach, just wanting to make people smile. The sun shine bright on us like stage lights. When are dreams seemed like they would always be just dreams. Now, we have to write. We don’t just get to let the music come to us; not with deadlines.
“I wish we could just let the music come to us.” I said, standing up.
“Like back in the day.” he said.
“When times where simple.”
“Not hard, you know, you know the days I’m talking about.” he sang out to me.
My eye’s widen with glee.
We bounded word back in for until lyrics were formed between us. We were reminded why thing was our dream, why we spent hours sing. Why we made our dreams come turn.

  1. Clary accepted the microphone as she walked up the steps to the stage, her acoustic guitar polished the same color as her cowboy boots.
Clary e Dinehart, 14, was a small town musician from Lousianna, but today her biggest crowd of six thousand payed no attention to the freshman girl next in line for karaoke.
"Hi. Um...wow, there are so many of you!"
Clary laughed, and a couple voices chorused in, a few guys whistled. Everyone else wrangled their noisy children, or forced a yawn.
"I'm just going to start, then."
No one cared. Clary did the routine: hooked up her guitar to the sound system, and played a few chords.
    "Okay. Here we go."
Clary strummed her guitar, the notes hitting perfectly as silence filled the auditorium. Clary seized the chance.
"Now's all we've got. Time can't be bought. I know it inside my heart, forever will forever be ours, even if we try to forget, love will remember."
Her soft, still, sweet voice filled the room as the attention of everyone was drawn to her.
"You said you loved me, I said I loved you back, what happened to that, what happened to that? All of your promises, and all the plans we had? What happened to that, what happened to that? We move on, yeah, we move on, even if we try to forget...love will remember, you. And love will remember, me."
Clary finished the song strong with emotion. Silence.
Then one by one, all six thousand people stood to their feet and applauded the young singer for blowing them away.

    1. Great! I loved it a simple, sweet but pulled me in waiting to know if the people were going to like her or not. Did the part of her some you come up with?
