Kindle Kandy No. 5

Kindle Kandy is a Friday weekly bookish feature hosted over at The Book Dame. We scan our shelves and e-readers to rediscover books that we own but have not read!

Uninvited & Unleashedby
When Davy Hamilton's tests come back positive for Homicidal Tendency Syndrome (HTS)-aka the kill gene-she loses everything. Her boyfriend ditches her, her parents are scared of her, and she can forget about her bright future at Juilliard. Davy doesn't feel any different, but genes don't lie. One day she will kill someone. Only Sean, a fellow HTS carrier, can relate to her new life. Davy wants to trust him; maybe he's not as dangerous as he seems. Or maybe Davy is just as deadly. The first in a two-book series, Uninvited tackles intriguing questions about free will, identity, and human nature. Steeped in New York Times bestselling author Sophie Jordan's trademark mix of gripping action and breathless romance, this suspenseful tale is perfect for fans of James Patterson, Michelle Hodkin, and Lisa McMann.

Davy has spent the last few months trying to come to terms with the fact that she tested positive for the kill gene HTS (also known as Homicidal Tendency Syndrome). She swore she would not let it change her, and that her DNA did not define her . . . but then she killed a man. Now on the run, Davy must decide whether she'll be ruled by the kill gene or if she'll follow her heart and fight for her right to live free. But with her own potential for violence lying right beneath the surface, Davy doesn't even know if she can trust herself.

I love this first book's cover. I am so looking forward to reading these book because they sound so different.

Fateful Blog Tour #Giveaway

Book Blurb for Fateful (book 1 in The Fateful Series)

For Danielle Darcey when the sun sets in London the magic begins, but just as that magic begins her fairy tale romance ends...

A huge fan of Jane Austen, Danielle hopes to find her own Mr. Darcy when she leaves Colorado to attend art school in London. Of course she knows it’s silly to wish for that, naive even. But she’s met enough males who lacked respect for women, a growing trend it seemed. And at nineteen...well... However, on only her second night there she gets lost and is threatened by a stalker who proves to be immune to her martial arts training. Before she is completely overpowered, she is then saved by Ethan Deveroux.

While Danielle does find the romance she seeks in Ethan, he’s no Mr. Darcy. Her hero is held by a spell which fractures their chance at a happy ending. During the day Ethan is closer to mortal than immortal and can date her like any other man. Yet, as the sun sets, the powerful magic of an ancient curse returns and the evil of that spell is revealed. When that magic begins, Danielle's fairytale romance ends because Ethan Deveroux is a vampire.

Fateful is a clean, coming of age vampire romance that blends fantasy and paranormal with a healthy dose of romance and a dash of humor.

Author Bio

Cheri is the bestselling author of Fateful. Imagine the magic and wonder of Harry Potter with the melt-your-heart romance of The Vampire Diaries. Fateful is followed by Fractured, Forever, and The Order of Curse-Bound Knights. Up next in the Fateful Series will be Little Red, the witch from Forever and the werewolf she falls for. She’s also working on a collection of seasonal, short stories taking you back to Ethan and Danielle. Her Fateful Series has been a worldwide bestseller since she published in 2011 and she plans to continue the series for quite some time.

Besides writing more books, Cheri’s next endeavor is having her books produced into audiobooks. She’s educated herself in the process and is now frequently invited to conferences to present on that subject to other authors. She has been asked to write articles for digital magazines as well. Ever since listening to Jim Dale’s production of Harry Potter, Cheri has been in love with listening to a story be brought to life in this way. And with the new availability of digital audiobooks, she wants to give her readers more options for enjoying her stories too.

Her reviewers have said Tristan Hunt (the narrator for Fateful) is the “Jim Dale” of romance, and Cheri would have to agree. Gone are the days of paying fifty dollars for a set of CDs. With Whispersync for Voice from Amazon, you can download the Kindle copy of Fateful for FREE, and get the 10 hour, well produced audiobook for only $1.99! Fractured is 3.99 for the Kindle copy, and then only $1.99 for the audiobook! Forever is in production now!

Yes, listening to an audiobook is still reading, only more convenient. And with the magic of Whispersync, you can switch back and forth without losing your place!

Kindle Kandy is a Friday weekly bookish feature hosted over at The Book Dame. We scan our shelves and e-readers to rediscover books that we own but have not read!

The Cage (The Cage #1) by Megan Shepherd

When Cora Mason wakes in a desert, she doesn't know where she is or who put her there. As she explores, she finds an impossible mix of environments—tundra next to desert, farm next to jungle, and a strangely empty town cobbled together from different cultures—all watched over by eerie black windows. And she isn't alone.

Four other teenagers have also been taken: a beautiful model, a tattooed smuggler, a secretive genius, and an army brat who seems to know too much about Cora's past. None of them have a clue as to what happened, and all of them have secrets. As the unlikely group struggles for leadership, they slowly start to trust each other. But when their mysterious jailer—a handsome young guard called Cassian—appears, they realize that their captivity is more terrifying than they could ever imagine: Their captors aren't from Earth. And they have taken the five teenagers for an otherworldly zoo—where the exhibits are humans.

As a forbidden attraction develops between Cora and Cassian, she realizes that her best chance of escape might be in the arms of her own jailer—though that would mean leaving the others behind. Can Cora manage to save herself and her companions? And if so . . . what world lies beyond the walls of their cage?

I wanted to read this one before it was even out, so I have no clue why I haven't read it by now.

Hargrove Perth Blog Tour

About the Book
When the phone rings, and Kennedy Nash learns from her mother that her Great-Aunt Lillian has passed, she has no idea how her life is about to change. Kennedy comes from a long line of powerful witches who reside at Coventry Place, a small yet quaint town nestled in the scenic mountains of Pennsylvania. To tourists and outsiders, the residents of Coventry Place seemed normal…just another sleepy Pennsylvania town full of old houses, antiques, and old money. To the residents of the quaint little town, Coventry Place was something else; a refuge for the elite of the elite of witches, their familiars, and their husbands. That was until a young, dark haired beauty arrived and turned their world, and their lives, upside down when she unleashes her own brand of magic on the town’s inhabitants. Nothing will ever be the same, not if Kennedy Nash had anything to say about it! (this book does contain strong language and sexual innuendos but no depictions of sex)

About the Author

A perpetual night-owl and lover of all things horror related, Hargrove finds inspiration in the most unlikely places. A penchant for research and a dedication to creating literary indulgences that the reader is unable to forget, Hargrove spends a great deal of time researching the larger than life characters of history to formulate characters unforgettable, despised, and strangely adored. She writes horror, dark romance, and paranormal in the Adult, New Adult, and YA categories. She recently paired with her long time friend, author Dorothy Dawson, (who is the author of the acclaimed Banesville Series) to write House at Whispering Oaks, their first dual novel together that is a Paranormal Clean Read. 2014 Author of the Year by Double Decker Books in Historical/Horror.

Cover Reveal & #Giveaway LIKE THE RED SKY AT MORNING

ABOUT THE BOOK
LIKE THE RED SKY AT MORNING
Forget Me Not #2
Author: Brielle Skye
Release Date: October 27th 2015
Publisher: Gypsy Pen Publishing

SERIES SYNOPSIS:
In the battle between duty and desire, there will be causalities. But when passion is blinding, morals are questioned, and loyalties are broken, can love conquer all?
In Solitude of a Birdcage, when Isaac Cole falls victim to an act of violence that leaves him with no recollection of the prior eighteen months, two best friends tend to his recovery. For Savannah, it’s simply an attempt to care for the man she loves.
For Maxie, it’s a chance at redemption.
She tells Isaac nothing of the passionate secrets they'd been keeping from Savannah, nor of the unyielding feelings that nearly consumed them both. But as the fragile wall obstructing Isaac's memory begins to crack, hidden truths slip through the fissures, and Maxie will be faced with an impossible choice—her loyalty, or her heart.
Then, in Like the Red Sky at Morning, the story of Maxie and Isaac continues, and Maxie is determined to move on from the past she shared with Isaac—especially since he still doesn’t remember it. Seeking comfort in a new job, dreams of becoming a chef, and a scheme that may be the very escape she needs, she counts down the days to her fresh start. But as she draws closer to her goals, she finds herself facing a new temptation as intoxicating—and as forbidden—as the last.
Torn between the past and the future, truth and pretense, a new love and the old, Maxie will once again be forced to make a decision that will leave her with everything she's ever wanted, or nothing at all.

Can't wait until October to dive into Like the Red Sky at Morning? If you leave a review of Book I of the Forget Me Not series, Solitude of a Birdcage, on Amazon, you'll get an exclusive, first look at the first TEN CHAPTERS of Red Sky. For details, click here!

Kindle Kandy No. 3

Kindle Kandy is a Friday weekly bookish feature hosted over at The Book Dame. We scan our shelves and e-readers to rediscover books that we own but have not read!

Seeker (Seeker #1) by Arwen Elys Dayton

The night Quin Kincaid takes her Oath, she will become what she has trained to be her entire life. She will become a Seeker. This is her legacy, and it is an honor. As a Seeker, Quin will fight beside her two closest companions, Shinobu and John, to protect the weak and the wronged.

Together they will stand for light in a shadowy world. And she'll be with the boy she loves--who's also her best friend. But the night Quin takes her Oath, everything changes. Being a Seeker is not what she thought. Her family is not what she thought. Even the boy she loves is not who she thought. And now it's too late to walk away.

I enjoy stories that change on the lead character, where they think that something it one way but the they are wrong; it helps the character grow and develop. Can't wait to dive into this world.

Cover Reveal: Next Door To A Star

They like me...they like me not.

NEXT DOOR TO A STAR by Krysten Lindsay Hager
Genre: Young Adult Romance
SYNOPSIS
Hadley Daniels is tired of feeling invisible.

After Hadley’s best friend moves away and she gets on the bad side of some girls at school, she goes to spend the summer with her grandparents in the Lake Michigan resort town of Grand Haven. Her next door neighbor is none other than teen TV star Simone Hendrickson, who is everything Hadley longs to be—pretty, popular, and famous—and she’s thrilled when Simone treats her like a friend.
Being popular is a lot harder than it looks.

It’s fun and flattering when Simone includes her in her circle, though Hadley is puzzled about why her new friend refuses to discuss her former Hollywood life. Caught up with Simone, Hadley finds herself ignoring her quiet, steadfast friend, Charlotte.

To make things even more complicated, along comes Nick Jenkins…

He’s sweet, good-looking, and Hadley can be herself around him without all the fake drama. However, the mean girls have other ideas and they fill Nick’s head with lies about Hadley, sending him running back to his ex-girlfriend and leaving Hadley heartbroken.

So when her parents decide to relocate to Grand Haven, Hadley hopes things will change when school starts…only to be disappointed once again.

August 11: Top Ten Authors I've Read The Most Books From

J.K. Rowling is one that I've read many, many books by and to put it simple she is amazing!

Meg Cabot what can I say, I've read all the Princess Diaries and several others of her books. I love her writing, there hasn't been a book of hers I've read that I didn't enjoy.

The Baby-Sitters Club by Ann M. Martin but I enjoy then when I was a young teen. I didn't get to read every single one but I read a lot of them!

Sarah Dessen! I am reading new book, loving it! Sarah is easily my second go to author. I've read almost every single one of her books and can't wait to finish the one I have started!

The Boxcar Children! I read these when I was a kid in school I had a teach who would read these books to me. I just enjoy them!

Poet Jeniann Bowers! I own almost ever one of her books!

The Lunar Chronicles! Eaa, that's right there on this list and soon Winter will be one my read list, once it comes out. It's taking forever for it to come out!

The Vampire Kisses books I've read all but two (I think) it's been years but I loved these books.

Jenny Han!
I love her writing style. I've read all the books to 'the summer i turned pretty trilogy'
And 'to all the boys I've loved before' & 'P.S. I still Love You'
Her books are great, with turns I've don't see coming.

Marie Lu is one of my new favorite author I enjoy her stories and worlds she writes about. Her plots are page tuners.
