Meet Daisy Winters. She’s an offbeat sixteen-year-old Floridian with mermaid-red hair; a part time job at a bootleg Walmart, and a perfect older sister who’s nearly engaged to the Crown Prince of Scotland. Daisy has no desire to live in the spotlight, but relentless tabloid attention forces her to join Ellie at the relative seclusion of the castle across the pond.

While the dashing young Miles has been appointed to teach Daisy the ropes of being regal, the prince’s roguish younger brother kicks up scandal wherever he goes, and tries his best to take Daisy along for the ride. The crown–and the intriguing Miles–might be trying to make Daisy into a lady . . . but Daisy may just rewrite the royal rulebook to suit herself.

Looking for the perfect summer read, then look no further than Royals (Royals #1) by Rachel Hawkins. This book. Man, it was just a blast! First, it's set in Scotland, so easy hands down going to give it a read. But then I meet Daisy who is so witty, while I was reading, there were times when I would stop reading and read lines out to other people because they were just that good I had to share them. We start out meeting Daisy and her new crazy world and things just go up from there.
When she first gets to Scotland, when she's first meeting everyone that was one of my favorite parts because you slowly get to see what everyone is really thinking about Daisy and her family. You get to see more into the royals lives than Daisy would like to. Shefastly learns that drama, rumors and, touble is hidden around each corner.
Miles was my second favorite character, even though there were a few times I wish I could yell at him or tell him to stop being stupid but still a clever character.
There was a few time I couldn't really tell where this story was going, that made it fun. I've never read a book by Rachel
Hawkins and now I'm a new fan and can't wait to dive into more story by her.
I was given an ARC to review so this is a 100% honest review.

  1. Glad you enjoyed this - it was a pretty fun and quick lighthearted read. Like you, I enjoyed how funny and witty and likable Daisy was.
Although, it was pretty predictable for me, but wasn't really expecting it to have a big twist or anything, haha.
