- QueerLit Read-A-Thon Wrap Up -
8:30 AM
Here is my Queer Lit Read-a-thon! I shared a little about each book quickly. I was able to read 8 books from the 2nd to the 8th. One short stories book, one graphic novel and five YA books. I gave one book of 2 stars, three books of 4 stars, and four books of 5 stars. This was the perfect way of kicking the summer off, growing, learning, and supporiting people of all kinds.
Group Read - This was a crazy ride of a book. I enjoyed the story, writing and characters. The main theme of this book is females and the roles in life. Overall, this is a much read about roles and culture.
POC Author/MC & Book Rec - This book will probably end up on my top list of 2019 books because I LOVE it. It fells real. I has bunches of fun with all the cooking scenes, the message of family. It's just perfect.
Sci-fi/Fantasy - V.E. Schwab writing, is. so. good! I had fun with the insane book. It rip my heart yet made me smile
at the same time.
at the same time.
#Ownvoices, Non-fiction, Disabled MC, Graphic Novle, Middle Grade - This is a middle grade, memoir about the author's hearing loss and growing up. The art was cute and I fun while reading it!
New to Me Author - Oh my.... I love this, new favorite, easily. The sibling relationships was done so, well. It felt real, heartbreaking and inspiring. I read this in one day, I HAD to know what was going on with Ben.
Translated - I wasn't a fan of this one. It felt mean and rush, just over the top.
Trans Spec MC - My heart was racing the whole time because I wasn't sure when the secret would come out. I'm a fan of Meredith Russo, she's a powerful writer.
